I was born in 1971 in Toledo, Ohio, and raised in the Midwest, but eventually I came to my senses and moved to New York. I love taking photos. Recently, I've been lucky enough to have my work featured on Buzzfeed.com and in the New York Times, which is great. Sometimes I get paid for my photography (happens more frequently these days), but not always. I have a day job, and I love that, too, but let’s be honest -- it’s really just a way to fund my photography habit. Lenses are expensive!
I live with Chris (my best friend and partner) and my daughter, Emily. When I'm not taking photos, I'm usually with them. My daughter has autism and epilepsy. Occasionally in the "News" section on this site, you'll see me talking about that (one post in particular). But usually if you see her mentioned, it's because Emily's photogenic and she's my favorite model ever. Chris, on the other hand, hates being photographed, though he occasionally makes an exception for me.
Most of my work is done in my home studio, but I love getting outside, too. If you're looking for portraits, author photos, or band pix, please get in touch. I'd love to hear from you. If you're looking for wedding or event photos, sorry, but that's not my cup of tea. I'll gladly hook you up with some excellent photographer friends who do exceptional work for a reasonable price.
